What brokers websites have to get right

A brokerage lives on listing freshness, and a stale listing is worse than no listing. The core engineering problem is keeping inventory current with minimal manual work — pulling from a CRM or feed where possible, and making it fast to mark something sold. Buyers remember a site that showed them a flat that had gone six weeks ago, and they do not come back.

Search here is intensely local and intensely specific: people search by locality, configuration and budget, in that order.
